Create using your own porcelain

Turn your family porcelain into an everlasting keepsake.

The process

1. Tell us your idea

Send us photos and tell us what you’d like to do and approximately how many pieces you need. If there are any details in the design you love—or any you’d prefer to avoid—feel free to let us know.

2. We start the process

Once we see the porcelain and confirm that we can work with it, you make an initial payment of approximately USD 100 (you can purchase the custom product below). This payment covers the initial costs of the process and is deducted from the final price of your pieces. Then you will receive instructions on how to send us the porcelain.

3. We cut the porcelain

When we receive it, we select and cut different pieces of clay with the pieces you want to make in mind, taking into account, whenever possible, your preferences regarding the design.

4. Choose your pieces

We show you the tablets obtained and we decide together which one will be used for each piece.

5. Confirm your order

Once the stones and pieces have been defined, we will send you the total amount of the order. The initial payment already made is deducted from that total. The remaining balance is paid before we begin manufacturing the jewelry. Once everything is finalized, the pieces are made.

6. Your pieces arrive home

When they are ready, they are sent to the customer. If you want to keep the rest of your porcelain, it is returned along with the jewelry; and we keep the extra paste tablets identified by name and date for a future piece.

Every piece begins with a story.

Instead of creating jewelry with new materials, María transforms treasured porcelain into keepsakes to be worn and passed down from generation to generation.

Fifth generation

Fifth generation

The plate I brought in to be transformed belonged to the dinnerware set my grandparents received as a wedding gift. They served as parents to me. One of the little medallions they made was for my granddaughter. I wanted them to be present in some way for Margo's first birthday. It’s incredible to think that part of that wedding gift is reaching the fifth generation! Thank you so much for the wonderful work you did!

Help and questions

What type of porcelain can I transform?

We work with plates, cups, and other porcelain or earthenware pieces that can be turned into jewelry. They can be antique, broken, incomplete pieces, or simply objects that hold a special meaning for you.
Before we begin, we recommend that you send us some photos so we can assess the material and the possibilities.

What if my porcelain is already broken or damaged?

It is not necessarily a problem. Many times we can work from a broken or incomplete piece, as long as the fragments have the necessary size and characteristics. Send us some photos and we will be able to tell you what possibilities we see.

Can I choose which part of the drawing to use?

You can tell us if there is any detail, color, or area of the drawing that you especially like or, on the contrary, that you prefer to avoid. We will always take it into account when making the cuts.

However, the cutting of the porcelain is an artisanal and mechanical process, and each piece behaves differently. That is why we cannot guarantee that a specific motif can be preserved exactly as it was chosen.

Once the cuts are made, we show you the resulting pieces and together we decide which one to use for each piece of jewelry.

How many pieces of jewelry can be made with one plate?

It depends on the size of the plate, its design, its condition, and how many pieces you want to make. The same plate can yield 2 pieces or up to 20.

When you send us the photos, tell us approximately what you would like to make and how many pieces you have in mind. This allows us to assess the possibilities before starting.

What happens to the porcelain that is not used?

When working with porcelain, we usually prepare a few more clay pads than are needed for the jewelry you are making at that time, just in case. Those that are not used are kept in our studio, labeled with your name and date, so that they can become new pieces in the future. The rest of the clay, if you want to keep it, we will return to you along with your jewelry.

How does the process work for creating a custom piece?

The first step is to send us photos of your porcelain and tell us what you would like to do. Once we confirm that we can work with it, we start the order and send you instructions on how to get the porcelain to us. When we receive it, we make the cuts, taking into account the pieces you want to create and any preferences you have indicated. Then we show you the resulting tiles and we decide together which one to use for each piece of jewelry. From there, the production of the pieces begins.

I have a porcelain piece, but I don't know what I want to do with it. Can you help me?

Yes. You don't need to have decided before contacting us. Send us some photos of your porcelain and we can help you think about which pieces might work best depending on its size, pattern, and characteristics.

How long does the process take?

For custom pieces, we like to work with plenty of time, so we generally ask for between 1 and 2 weeks to make them. Regardless, we always try to accommodate your needs and will check with you before starting to find out when you need your pieces.

How do I get my porcelain to them?

Once you have started your order, we will send you instructions on how to send us the porcelain.

We can receive pieces from both Uruguay and abroad. The instructions may vary depending on the country from which the shipment is sent, so we will let you know the best method for your situation.

Can I place an order from outside Uruguay?

Yes. We work with clients from Uruguay and abroad. Once the jewelry is finished, we ship it to your address and share the tracking information with you.

How does payment work for a custom-made piece?

Once we evaluate your porcelain and confirm that we can proceed, an initial payment of USD 100 is made to start the order. This amount covers the initial costs of the process and is deducted from the final value of the jewelry.

After making the cuts and determining which tablet will be used for each piece, we confirm the final order and its total value. At that time, the remaining balance is paid and we begin making the jewelry.
